The Quad 44 was the first modular Opamp-based Quad has made. It is still one of the best flexible High quality pre-amplifiers ever made.
Unfortunately after 20 years many components tend to dry out and the Opamp-chips available then were not at all comparable to the quality of modern components. A revision/upgrade will make your Quad sound better than ever before:
- The old Opamp-chips are replaced with Burr Brown OPA134 and 2134 (some of the very best audio opamps currently available), see the Data-sheet.
- All electrolytic capacitors (including those in the power supply) are replaced by new ones as well as some resistors that are critical.
- All input-channels are calibrated and adapted to your input-sources, the output is adapted to the power-amp you use.
- The revision is fully adapted to the version of the 44 you use, depending on the serial number.
- After the revision there is a 1-year warrantee.
- If the amplifier does not work before the revision ask for a quotation.
